Global Bridegroom FastWhat is the Global Bridegroom Fast? The Global Bridegroom Fast is a monthly, solemn assembly of believers all over the globe in unified holy abandonment to Jesus for three days. We are calling believers worldwide to join together in unified prayer and fasting for revival motivated by experiencing love for Jesus. This is not simply an event, but a new lifestyle in the grace of God. Anyone in any place can participate in the Global Bridegroom Fast. At IHOP Atlanta, we set aside these three days as corporate fasting days for anyone who wants to participate. Isaiah 60:2 “Behold, darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you.” Millions of Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims fast and pray with an intensity unknown by many in the Western Church. In this global climate of heightened spiritual activity, the Lord is bringing His bride to maturity by raising up a globally unified church that fasts, worships and prays. When is the Global Bridegroom Fast? The Global Bridegroom Fast is held on the first Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each month. In December, the fast is extended to seven days from the first Monday through Saturday. This results in 40 days throughout the year of unified worship, prayer and fasting. Global Bridegroom Fast Dates 2008Jan 7-9, Feb 4-6, Mar 3-5, Apr 7-9, May 5-7, Jun 2-4, Jul 7-9, Aug 4-6, Sep 1-3, Oct 6-8, Nov 3-5, Dec 1-7 Who Should Be Involved? We are calling all pastors, leaders, youth groups, campus ministries, business leaders, moms and dads, students, etc. to join with us in fasting and prayer. The Global Bridegroom fast is an ecumenical, inter-denominational call to a concert of prayer and fasting. We are calling all who are willing to embrace this lifestyle in the grace of God, from churches to youth groups, to campus ministries to businesses. Why is it called a “Bridegroom” Fast?Jesus said in Matthew 9:15 that the days would come when He, the Bridegroom would be taken away. He described those days as days when His disciples would long for Him in the place of spiritual mourning. Jesus said that when He was taken then His followers would fast out of desire for intimacy with Him. This fast is focused not on earning more of God but on enlarging our capacity to receive a greater experience of the love of God in our hearts. When we fast we become more vulnerable and receptive to the moving of the Holy Spirit. Through the Bridegroom fast, we are able to posture ourselves in a position of spiritual mourning; whereby, we deeply embrace longing and desire for our Bridegroom Jesus. Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” What are we praying for?The Knowledge of God(Ephesians 1:17-19, Proverbs 2:1-6) A greater revelation and encounter with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Fullness of the Holy Spirit and unity in the Church(John 14:12; 17:2-23) Spiritual breakthroughs in the Church worldwide with unprecedented unity, purity and power The Great Harvest(Matt 24:14) Over one billion souls converted by the power of God Youth Revival Movement(Mal.4:6) Worldwide revival especially among the youth and poor of the earth Revival to Israel(Romans 9-11) Fulfillment of all the promises to the remnant of Israel Houses of Prayer(Isaiah 62:6-7) The release of “grace for fasting” with worship and prayer to establish 24 hour a day houses of prayer in the cities of the earth (including Israel) |

GSM: Book of Acts11/24/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pmThe early disciples sold their possessions and gave as anyone had need. When the first apostles preached the gospel, either thousands were saved or riots broke out. The early church's response to the broken and hurting world was, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." It is our hope that an honest look into the book of Acts will utterly convict us and lead us into a lifestyle of authentic Christianity, that we might become a people that will again "turn the world upside down." Staff Intercession Meeting11/25/2008 4:00pm - 6:00pmTuesday is a designated prayer and fasting day for IHOP Atlanta staff and family. We have scheduled intercession meetings at 10 a.m., 4 p.m., 8 p.m., and midnight. We ask that all staff make it a priority to attend the weekly Tuesday 4 p.m. intercession meeting, as this is the one time weekly that we come together as a community for worship and intercession. Full-time staff are required to attend the 4 p.m. and an additional intercession meeting on Tuesday. Part-time staff are required to attend only the 4 p.m. intercession meeting. This meeting is open to the public as are all IHOP Atlanta prayer meetings GSM: Bride of Christ11/25/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pmEphesians 5 discusses the mystery of the joining of a man and woman as a symbol that points to a greater reality: the eternal union of Christ and His Church. This mystery is revealed throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. This class will discuss the Bridal Paradigm of the kingdom, the major symbols of the Bride throughout the Bible as well as the Bride at the end of the age. GSM: Life of David11/25/2008 6:00pm - 8:00pmThe life of David, the son of Jesse, is a fascinating journey of hope and struggle, pain and promotion, despair and victory. We gain significant insight into the character of God through understanding David’s perspective of God in the place of strength as well as weakness. We will contrast seasons of David’s life with the psalms that he authored during those specific times. The study of the life of David is a study of the kindness and goodness of God toward weak people whom He so deeply desires. |
